| The large male cast his eyes to the flowing waters of the creek, the green within his gaze flinting darkly with the loss he felt. His tail gave a quick flick behind him as a sigh elicited from the beast -- he greatly missed his previous rank of Elite, working beneath his brothers steady paws that had guided the pack so well before.
Now Shrouded Forest lay in ruin and it was up to him to pick up the pieces. Thus far he had two Hunter's and a Warrior.. hardly fitting if one of their enemies were to attempt to raid the pack lands. Yet they too had likely suffered from the withhold of food this past winter and spring.. or so he hoped.
The sun shone behind a white cloud above, peeking through every so often to illuminate the male's shadow across the lands that were now his. Despite the weakness that clung to his very bones from such a trying time and lack of nutrition, the Alpha waded out to the water, standing in its depths as it swirled around him.
Watching and waiting, it took him many moments of silence before he was rewarded with the sight of a fish. Clever with his paws, Prosper flung one, lifting the fish from the water and to the air, where his jaws sloppily snapped hold just upon the tail of the beast. Being slapped in the face with the fish was inevitable, but quickly he darted for the shore, where he lay the meal down and finished its suffering with another quick snap of his jaws. The creek, it seemed, was plentiful.

| The black female slowed her pace as she neared the Silver Creek, her mussel swinging side to side as memorys flowded into her mind. The first was of her brother's, at first they were happy, playing beside their large father and learning from his skill. But as the memory went on, their father faded into nothing, replaced by their mother in the distance, only to be floating further and further away. The two male pups started to change, they grew bigger, as all pups do, but their expretions turned harder, eyes cold and dark. Until they no longer looked like a pup any more, for they teached themselved how to fight by clawing at each other.
The horrible vision quickly ended when Atreill gasped for air only to get a lung full of water. While she had been dreaming, her head had diped into the river. Pulling back in fright, Atreill spluttered as the cold feeling went straight to her head. Guilt clawed at her heart thinking she had left her brothers for what they had become, not what they had been, she had been so selfish to even think about helping them to break their new cold, hard skin to revill the sweet pups they had been. A hard sigh escaped her black lips, she could do nothing now.
The huntress looked up for the first time, only to see the alpha on the other side of the Creek, a thrashing fish in his jaws. Pride swelled in her chest thinking that the pack will go on under his paw, for the prey are coming back and that was the life line of their pack to keep their heads above water. The dark female cleared her throut in fear that if she spoke, it would fail her half way. "How is the great alpha these days?" She asked politly in her sweetest voice she could muster.

| A voice caused his ears to swivel upon his crown, and glancing back to the creek, Propser noticed Atreill at the bank edges, her face soaked. Blinking as he studied her, noting the bi-toned eyes of the she-wolf once more, he gave a light shrug to her question, knowing he had done nothing yet for the pack to be titled as 'great' just yet. "Each day seems to be a little easier. And yourself?"
There was a small pause, the male bending down to grab his fish in his powerful jaws. Turning, the tall wolf meandered back in to the creek, swimming where it deepened to get to the other side quickly and to join his huntress. As his paws touched the rock and sand of the bottom, he felt weighted by the water that soaked in his fur, and pulling himself up to the edge and a bit away from the ebony female, gave a grat shake of his golden pelt.
With a chuff, he padded toward Atreill, dropping the fish down in front of her before nosing it her way in invitation to share. A nod was then given to her shoulder, which had been injured on their hunt not very long ago. "How is it healing?"

| The huntress paused a few seconds to punder over his anwser. She was going though a hard time and was struggling to keep up with the demainds of the growing pack. "That is music to my ears, for myself, I am keeping up with everything so far" She replied with a smile, not really wanting to add to the burdens the alpha had to carry on his shoulders so far.
She felt slightly unconfurtable as the golden alpha crossed the river, heading towards her. Even though he was the alpha and had tried to flirt with him, she was still unsettled with the pack after the so sudden change. For all those she had followed when she had first came to the pack were gone, all gone. Most of her friends had been hunters too, they had worked as one to keep the pack provided for and now it was for nothing.
Her stomach rumbled to tell her she hadn't eaten in awile, only now to realize as a meal lay before her. At first the black female thought of deniying the alpha's offer, but a fish was full of goodness and right now she needed it. Bowing low to show her thanks, the huntress picked up the fish with gental jaws and moved it to her feet to eat when she had time. The gash on her was now starting to heal, Atreill had been worried at first for the bleeding would not stop for her scabing wasn't very fast with such a vast wound. But over time it had scabed over and now it seemed to be healing well. She had advoided any herbs for she did not know them well and feared one mistake could lead to her own death. Heat rose to her cheeks once again as the alpha came closer again to bow towards her gash. "It is healing well after the first proper meal I had after months, alpha" She said gladly.

| Her positive words were almost enlightening to the male, and he gave a nod of his muzzle in silent agreement -- the pack would thrive, the pain would soon cease, and Shrouded Forest would swarm once more with members. Perhaps, even in a few seasons, they would see cubs born within the land.
As she took the fish, his eyes strayed out to the waters again, his legs propelling him forward with the decision to continue fishing. He was not so far away that they could not converse, and this at least allowed both of them some space. Somehow, he got the impression that she desired such a thing.
"Perhaps soon a healer will join our pack," he mused, almost more to hmself than to Atreill. His eyes darted the waters as it swayed about his pelt, his body stilling as he awaited for more fish to come his way.

| Atreill thought for a second and realized she knew one more thing than the alpha, "I a'm delighted to inform that a healer now does walks amoung us" She replied to him, for she had seen the old wolf walk around before. She didn't know her name or hadn't talked to her yet, but all in good time. Maybe she would know how to heal her gash and provent a infection coming in. The thought made Atreill gigglish, for that would meam she could hunt in peace and know she can do what her body can do without being dragged down by her front leg.
The black female watched the alpha as he stood in the streaming current, the white water foam enclosing around each rock that stood before it. With the flick of her tail, Atreill trotted up to the river, close but a distance away from the alpha. "Do you need soom help? Or shall i wait until a fish has slapped the wits out of you?" Atreill laughted out, but Atreill knew that some of her jokes can be taken the wrong way, so she waited for thr alpha to either laugh with her, or think that she had ment that he was a bad hunter, which of cause she did not mean.
Before Atreill could wait for a reply, a silver glimmer appeared at her feet. With a yelp of delight, she nose dived to where she had last seen the fish. For Atreill, she thought that the river was a little deeper, but it appears she stayed close to the shore and her nose soon connected with the rocks below. With a whine, the black female pulled her head back up with nothing to show.
